Never Awakening Dream ... published in Tezuka's COM (April 1969) | size : 36.5 x 24.5 cm | Media : graphite + blue crayon & ink on drawing paper
Tarō Higuchi was a Japanese manga artist active from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s. His works were primarily published in adult-oriented magazines such as COM.
His stories explored themes such as human psychology and the tensions within modern society, often portraying the unsettling undercurrents of everyday life in Japan. He created innovative and avant-garde manga characterized by experimental storytelling and a highly artistic style (though it began to lose some of its spark toward the end of his career).
Tarō Higuchi belonged, and fit into, to the generation as mangaka like Shōtarō Ishinomori, Takao Saitō, Sanpei Shirato, Shigeru Mizuki, Goseki Kojima, Kazuo Umezz, and others ... until, he vanished from the scene. Where he went, or why he stopped creating, is unknown !
