Masaharu Nakano was a Japanese manga artist active in the early Showa period.
One of his best-known works is The Great War of Birds and Beasts, published in 1940. This work depicts a war between birds and beasts and reflects the social situation of that time.
He was actively involved in rekindling the post-war manga culture with many publications in Manga Shonen. This complete set of 48 original drawings are playing cards used for a children's karuta (Japanese playing cards)
